Qualche ora fa è stato premiato Metroid Dread, il titolo è riuscito a vincere la categoria Best Action/Adventure Game ai The Game Awards 2021.
Non sarà il GOTY (vinto un po inaspettatamente da It Takes Two), ma rimane comunque un premio che da valore e lustro ad una serie, sempre un po bistrattata dai fan dell’ultima ora (e anche un po da Nintendo stessa).
Oltre questo viene premiato vista la storia travagliata e parecchio longeva dello sviluppo di Metroid Dread, concepito per Nintendo DS nei primi anni del 2000, per poi essere cancellato e scomparire fino all’annuncio nell’E3 del 2021.

Best Action/Adventure Game ai The Game Awards 2021 va anche a premiare il team di MercurySteam, già autori dei vari Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, ma anche di Metroid: Samus Returns, il remake per Nintendo 3DS dell’originale secondo capitolo della serie, apparso per la prima volta sul vecchio Game Boy.
Il nuovo capitolo in 2D della bella cacciatrice di taglie spaziale, Samus Aran, sarà pubblicato il prossimo 8 ottobre 2021 sui Nintendo Switch europei e americani.

A new Samus amiibo™ figure featuring her suit from Metroid Dread and an E.M.M.I. amiibo figure are available in a 2-pack set. Scan the Samus amiibo for an extra energy tank to increase your health by 100; additionally, the Samus amiibo can be tapped again to receive health once per day. The E.M.M.I. amiibo grants Samus a Missile Plus tank, increasing her missile capacity by 10; additionally, the E.M.M.I. amiibo can be tapped again to replenish some missiles once per day.
